• Heavy-Duty Aluminium Hardshell: Powder coated Aluminium 170mm packed down (without mounting rails)For extra protection and strength, can hold 150kgs on top while the seals around the shell keep dust and water out

• 304-grade Stainless Steel: Our gas struts, hinges, and mounting brackets are all made from high resistance to coastal environments

• Tent Body: Made from a 280g Ripstop Polycotton material is rip-proof, waterproof, and weatherproof. It is lightweight but extremely hard to wear

• Honeycomb Core Base and Lid Design: Reduces weight and adds strength, increasing the internal weight limit to 300kg.

• Thick Mattress: 6cm high-density sponge mattress for ultimate comfort, so no matter how hard the trail is, you'll have a great night's sleep

• Seam Sealing and Double Stitching: Double stitching on all major joins and high-use areas for extra strength and heated sealing on every seam inside the tent keeps all the weather out and you nice and dry!

Setting up the Tuatara Hard can be pitched in as little as 30 seconds without the porch or 1 minute with the porch set up, thanks to the stainless steel gas struts that do most of the work for you; this is one of the quickest setups on the market!

With 3 entry points and multiple ladder mounting locations, you'll have access to your tent no matter how you set up your rig!

TRAIL-READY  HARD SHELL DESIGN:

The Tuatara Hard Shell has an extremely hard-wearing hard shell made from powder-coated Aluminium with a lightweight but extremely strong aluminium honeycomb base and lid. 

The T-Channel system on the Hardshell allows you to mount all needed accessories from Camping lights, Awnings using the Kiwi Camping Awning Bracket Mounts, or something a bit heavier on top by using the roof rack or cargo tray system! 

The ability to store up to 150kg on top of the shell when closed and 15kg when open allows you to take more toys on your adventures! 

MOUNTING REQUIREMENTS:

With the Tuatara Hard Shell being our largest and heaviest roof tent, you need to make sure your vehicle can handle the weight; we recommend that your roof rack system and vehicle have a dynamic load rating of 80kg or more.

When setting up your roof rack system, your rails should be no more than 1000mm-1200mm apart.
